The Artist Mage ~ Will Spears

I've been writing a screnplay about vampires that are actually evil.  After having watched movie after movie and series after series of noble vampires and vampires with souls and vampires whose evil borders on the gray of being good, I'm getting a little annoyed because my basic philosophy of vampires is that they are evil.  They live (no pun intended) to suck blood.  They kill with impunity.  Human lives mean nothing to them.

Thank you Anne Rice for your seductive vampires that obsess over art and culture and velvets and sensual pursuits, but the only thing a vampire obsesses over is blood.

I can't wait to see the new upcoming "Fright Night" because of any vampire movies I've ever seen, "Fright Night" and "Fright Night 2" were the scariest true to the core vampire movies I've ever seen.

I'm going to do my best to write something seriously scary.  I can only hope that I'll be able to allow my mind to go to that place where creativity touches upon sinister cruelty so that I can breathe true fear into the plot.  I spend so much time trying to be a goody-goody that a part of me worries about unleashing the dark emotions.  It's all Yoda's fault with his, "If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

I must find the mind of a villain to write compelling lines, and then I must kill it to save my world and my soul.  Oh, the philosophies of writing.
